How To Correctly Fold And Store Your Halo Reformer
Proper folding and storage ensure the longevity and functionality of your Reformer bed. Follow these steps for safe storage and easy setup!
Step-by-Step Folding Process (Vertical Storage)
1. Prepare Your Reformer
- Remove all accessories: Risers, straps, and other accessories should be stored separately in the Pilates box.
- Secure the carriage: Ensure the carriage is secured with one red spring.
- Lower the footbar: Lower it to its flat position to help secure the carriage in place.
2. Folding the Reformer
- Stand in the middle of the Reformer bed: This gives you proper leverage for lifting.
- Lift the metal bar: Using both hands, gently lift the bar upwards.
- Lift until vertical: Continue lifting until the Reformer is in a vertical position or at the appropriate folding angle.
3. Moving to Storage
- Tilt the Reformer: Gently tilt the folded Reformer backward onto its wheels.
- Roll to storage: Roll carefully to your designated storage area.
- Secure with the Pilates box: For extra security, place the Pilates box in front of the Reformer bed to keep it in place.
Step-by-Step Folding Process (Horizontal Storage)
1. Prepare Your Reformer
- Remove all accessories: As with vertical storage, remove all risers, straps, and other accessories, and store them separately in the Pilates box.
- Remove the carriage: Stand at the side of the Reformer bed and remove the carriage. You may want to ask someone for help to ensure it's safely lifted off.
- Set the carriage aside: Place it to one side for now.
2. Folding the Reformer
- Stand in the middle: As in vertical storage, stand in the middle of the Reformer bed for better control.
- Lift the metal bar: Gently lift the bar upwards using both hands.
- Lift until vertical: Continue lifting until the Reformer is vertical or at the appropriate folding angle.
3. Moving to Storage
- Gently tilt the Reformer: Tilt the folded Reformer backward onto its wheels.
- Roll to storage: Roll carefully to your designated storage area.
- Place horizontally: Lay the Reformer horizontally in your storage area.
- Replace the carriage: Place the carriage back onto the frame.
- Compact storage: For more compact storage, place the Pilates box on top of the carriage.
Storage Best Practices
Ideal Storage Location
- Clean, dry area: Store in a dry, clean environment to avoid moisture and dirt buildup.
- Avoid direct sunlight: Sunlight can fade the upholstery over time.
- Keep away from radiators: Heat can damage both the frame and upholstery.
Storage Position
- Place against a wall: If possible, place your Reformer against a wall for added stability and to prevent it from tipping over.
Accessory Storage
- Store accessories in the Pilates box: This keeps them safe and organised.
By following these guidelines, your Reformer will remain in excellent condition, ready for your next workout!
